L'Age d'Or

Before talking to "The Man" on the telephone the Minister of the Interior (?) handles a small pistol before closing it in a drawer. The ensuing conversation disturbs him. We hear a gunshot then see the pistol on the floor and the Minister's body stuck to the ceiling. Is this a surrealist representation of suicide? (0:48)
