Iron Lady

#ironlady

Her daughter Carol tells Margaret Thatcher that Margaret's son Mark is in South Africa and, "Dad is dead." (0:22)

Her doctor asks Margaret about "hallucinations." He goes on to say, "Grief is a very natural state."
Margaret: "My husband has been gone for years."
Doctor: "Still, it must be very disorientating." (0:51)

Margaret turns on loud music and noisy devices to drown Denis' voice: "If I can't hear you, I can't see you. If I can't see you, you're not here." (0:55)

Looking in her mirror Margaret says, "I don't recognize myself."  Prosopagnosia? (0:56)

Margaret says, "You're dead Denis." (1:08)

Margaret packs Denis belongings to get rid of them. As she sees him walking away from her down the hall she says, "I don't want you to go yet." (1:33)

Bereavement | disorientation | hallucination | prosopagnosia
